Street Elbow (SLB)

A street elbow (SLB) is a type of pipe elbow having an internal thread at one end and an external thread at the other. In other words, it is a type of plumbing or piping fitting which is intended to join a piece of pipe and another fitting at an angle. That is why a regular elbow and a street elbow is different. The basic advantage of the street elbow (SLB) is that it can be connected directly to another pipe fitting without using a pipe nipple (short piece of connecting pipe). On the other hand, a street elbow has a female fitting (Hub or FIP) on one side and a male pipe ( since it matches the dimensions of the pipe and therefore will go into any fitting) or MIP (Male Iron Pipe threads which is the standard tapered thread cut into pipe) fitting on the other end.
